RODE NTG1 shotgun micThe RODE NTG1 is a lightweight condenser shotgun microphone, designed for professional applications within the film, video, television and production industries. Its full frequency response, low noise and audio transparency make it a great all round film, video, and voice over microphone, while its low weight (105gm/3.7oz) makes it ideal for boom work. The NTG1 offers 20Hz-20kHz frequency response plus a selectable high-pass filter at 80Hz which helps to attenuate traffic rumble etc. NB The NTG1 needs phantom power so it has to be connected to a professional 3 pin XLR mic input. If you need your mic to be self powered then look at the NTG2 which is basically the same but can also be powered from an AA battery. The NTG1 comes with a WSVM foam windshield which helps cut out pops but for outdoor use in light wind you'll need the WS6 push on furry windshield. In heavier wind conditions you' ll need a Rode Blimp Mk2 2 basket windshield.
